Newton Road is on the Churchfields industrial estate, on the west side of Salisbury. It is named after Isaac Newton, the scientist. This follows the theme of the other roads on the industrial estate, which are named after scientists or engineers. For example:

New Zealand Avenue, Salisbury

New Zealand Avenue is to the north west of Salisbury, between the Devizes Road and the Wilton Road.

It is one of a group of roads in the area which are named after Commonwealth countries – the others being India Avenue, Canadian Avenue and Australian Avenue.

Norfolk Road, Harnham

Norfolk Road is in Harnham, a village or suburb on the southern side of Salisbury.

Norfolk Road is on an estate which features all of the counties on the coastline from Norfolk itself, through Suffolk, Essex, Kent and Sussex.

Northleigh Terrace, Wilton

Northleigh Terrace is in Wilton, which is a small town to the west of Salisbury.

I don’t know why it is called Northleigh Terrace. There is a Northleigh in Devon, near Colyton and a ‘North Leigh’ in Oxfordshire, but I don’t know of any connection to Wilton.
