Cornelia Funke, author of Inkheart, has set her latest book ‘Ghost Knight‘ in and around Salisbury.
The story is about a young boy who is sent to boarding school in Salisbury. While there he encounters the ghosts of William Longspee and Lord Stourton.
There are some wonderful illustrations in ‘Ghost Knight’, some of which are featured on the artist’s website:
I found a few words about the book in an interview that Funke did with the Daily Telegraph:
I am also working on the book set in Salisbury which is called The Knight and the Boy at the moment. I am almost done with the first draft and can’t wait to have children meet my heroes Ella and Jon and the ghosts of William Longspee and Lord Stourton. I already got much help for that one from the children and teachers at Salisbury Cathedral school and the wonderful Dean of the cathedral even helped me find out where Jon and Ella can hide at night to meet William Longspee. That’s of course the advantage of a story set in our world! [1]

I’ll put more detail about the book on this page as I find it, and when I’ve got a copy and read it!
