There are several hotels in Salisbury. I live in Salisbury myself, so I’ve never stayed in any of the Salisbury hotels. Therefore I can’t entirely vouch for what they are like to stay in. However, I obviously know where they are, I have eaten in most of the hotel’s restaurants and had a drink in their bars – so I hope the following will be useful.

The White Hart Hotel is in the centre of Salisbury, just outside of the Cathedral Close. It’s in Saint John Street, just on the edge of Salisbury’s shopping centre.
It’s a 3-star hotel. The White Hart hotel is an imposing building for a rural market town. It’s a 19th Century building – cream coloured rather than red-bricked, with a grand portico projecting out over the pavement. |

The Red Lion Hotel is right in the middle of Salisbury City Centre.
It’s an absolutely lovely hotel. Reputedly one of the oldest in the country, it’s an interesting building in its own right. It boasts two ‘Act of Parliament’ clocks, and a beautiful Virginia Creeper in the courtyard. |
