William Brassey HolsOn the 7th November 1846 illustrator William Brassey Hole was born in Salisbury.

He was the son of the doctor Richard Brassey Hole, who died in the 1849 Salisbury Cholera Epidemic. The Brassey Hole family moved to Scotland shortly after Richard’s death.

William Brassey Hole illustrated books by JM Barrie and Robert Louis Stephenson[1].
