This Francis Frith1 photo is Salisbury High Street on a snowy day in 1906. The ‘snowscape’ seems appropriate given the recent weather, and I thought it was interesting to see that you used to be able to but petrol in the centre of Salisbury.

Footnotes
- I thought it would be nice to get a few more photos on the website. As you may have noticed if you’ve seen my infrequent snaps on the site, I’m not the best of photographers so I thought I’d ‘borrow’ some from the Francis Frith website. Francis Frith make their photos available on the basis that people can buy the picture by clicking on it. If you do so, I’ll get some commission, but I’m not necessarily anticipating giving up the day job! [↩]
