Listings for the Odeon Cinema

I’ve typed in the schedules for the Odeon’s Kids Club and Director’s Chair screenings on the pages below:

There are a couple of other special screening throughout the week, one for parents and babies and one for seniors. I’ll type those up when I can.

Previously at the Kids’ Club

13th-14th March – A Christmas Carol
20th/21st March – Planet 51 Odeon Kids ClubAn animation from Dreamworks (who produced Shrek and Madagascar) where a man lands on an alien planet, and is treated like…an alien.
27-28th March Ponyo
Fantastic Mr Fox, showing in January at Odeon Kids Club Date Unconfirmed – Fantastic Mr Fox Odeon Kids ClubStop motion version of the Roald Dahl book. Not too faithful to Mr Dahl, but a great film in my opinion. The Guardian calls it a ‘charming and defiantly old-school animation of the Roald Dahl children’s classic’
Date Unconfirmed – Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Odeon Kids Club CGI film about an inventor trying to bring prosperity to his town by getting it to rain food. Unusual and surreal, in a good way.
Date Unconfirmed – Up Odeon Kids ClubPixar animation, predicted to win a best film Oscar, about an old man who floats his house off to South America on hundreds of balloons. Personally, I wasn’t too keen. The first 20-30 minutes is great in a sentimental sort of way, but after that the story’s a bit of a mess.
Date Unconfirmed – Where The Wild Things Are Odeon Kids ClubAn adaptation of the book by Maurice Sendak. Directed by Spike Jonze, who also did ‘Being John Malkovich, and a lot of pop videos. Ryan Gilbey says ‘Jonze’s version still has its own virtues. Just don’t expect the movie of the book.’ I thought it was boring, but the people I went with enjoyed it
Date Unconfirmed – Alvin And The Chipmunks 2 – The Squeakquel
The Princess and the Frog
