Stonehenge less valuable than the Eiffel Tower

An Italian study has dreamed up a monetary value for Stonehenge[2]. The study by the Monza and Brianza Chamber of Commerce used criteria which included a “tourist index” (fame of the monument and number of visitors) and an “economic index” (number of jobs created).

The figure for the Henge was £8.3 billion pounds. This, I suppose, compares rather well with it’s last resale price – Stonehenge was sold at auction in 1905 – £6,600.

However, the ‘value’ of Stonehenge is dwarfed by other monuments, including the Eiffel Tower which, according to the study, is valued at £344 billion.
