Roberts Road SP2

"Little Ben" clock tower in Fisherton Street SalisburyI don’t know the derivation of the name of Roberts Road. It could be the name of the original landowner or developer. A prominent Salisbury citizen by the name of Roberts was Dr John Roberts. He built ‘Little Ben’ – the clock tower by Fisherton Bridge – in memory of his wife.

It’s built on the site of a gaol. There is a carving of some chains on the side.
