The British Library and the University of East Anglia have started a three year research project on the Magna Carta[1].

The project ‘aims to expand public and scholarly understanding of the making and meaning of Magna Carta’.

The Salisbury ‘link’ here, if you’re not aware is that one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta is on display in Salisbury Cathedral.

Salisbury Maltings Developer Chosen

The Maltings, Salisbury The developer ‘Stanhope’ has been chosen to work on the redevelopment of the Maltings.

Alistair Shaw of Stanhope is quoted as saying: “Our aim is to deliver a comprehensive and high quality development that can both complement and enhance the many great qualities that the historic medieval city already possesses. We are looking forward to working with the people of Salisbury to turn the Vision into reality”

On a related topic, I recently noticed that Salisbury Vision Board is holding meetings on:

  • 13 September 2012
  • 13 December 2012

There aren’t any more details, but the page for this is:

The first link here shows some previous work, but the second link has his depiction of the Queen’s visit to Salisbury.

Footnotes

  1. It seems to be more properly ‘Magna Carta’ rather than ‘the Magna Carta’, but I can’t quite get used to leaving out the ‘the’ []
