St Lukes Close, Salisbury

Saint Lukes Close is one of the roads named after saints in the Bishop Down farm area, which is a large estate to the North of Salisbury.

Saint Luke was the writer of one of the gospels, but he was also a painter – traditionally he painted a picture of Mary and Jesus while they posed for him.1

He is therefore a patron saint of painters.
