The Meadows SP1

According to the Concise Oxford English Dictionary1, a meadow is either or both of:

  • an area of grassland, especially one used for hay.
  • a piece of low ground near a river.
  • In this example it could certainly have been both – ‘The Meadows’ in Milford is surrounded by grasslands and within a couple of hundred metres of the River Bourne.
