The first phase, on the left side going up, stopped at No 15, where my mum's parents lived. It should have been No 13, but family folklore insists that my very superstitious granny had her objections upheld. The second phase followed (c 1936 I guess) and my parents moved into No 17 where I was born (literally: the midwife, Nurse Morris, was called from her home in Queen Alexnadra Road) in 1939. I have been recording memories of my contemporaries in the road and would love to hear (at bull.hagiology at blueyonder.co.uk) from other former road-mates, browsing this page.
