<description>Tournament Road was built in the 1930s. The first phase, on the left side going up, stopped at No 15, where my mum&#039;s parents lived. It should have been No 13, but family folklore insists that my very superstitious granny had her objections upheld. The second phase followed (c 1936 I guess) and my parents moved into No 17 where I was born (literally: the midwife, Nurse Morris, was called from her home in Queen Alexnadra Road) in 1939.
I have been recording memories of my contemporaries in the road and would love to hear (at bull.hagiology at blueyonder.co.uk) from other former road-mates, browsing this page.
