Tower Mews SP1

I am unsure why this is called Tower Mews – it could be because it is relatively close to St Mark’s Church which has a very short tower rather than a spire or steeple. Alternatively it might just be a vaguely historical sounding name. The word ‘Mews’ is reminiscent of London (at least it is to me) – perhaps Tower is supposed to bring to mind the Tower of London.
