Tylers Close SP2

My guess would be that the name ‘Tylers Close’ is derived from the name of a landowner or developer. There are three reasons for this guess:

  • I don’t know of any prominent Salisbury figures with a surname of Tyler
  • there are no sufficiently celebrated historical figures (with the possible exception of Wat Tyler, of the Peasants revolt – but he’s probably overly contraversial and underly famous)
  • the ‘s’ at the end of Tyler implies that the land or the development belonged to a Mr or Ms Tyler.
