West End Road in Salisbury would have been at the extreme West End of the city until the ‘Empire’ road names (India Avenue, Canadian Avenue etc) were built.
Update: More likely, perhaps, is that this road is named after the West End of London. There are a number of roads named after areas of London in this area – others including Highbury Avenue, Westminster Road and Kingsland Road
