Wolferston Drive SP1

I think this might be named after Thomas Wolferston who was an ‘ironfounder’ and inventor in the 1840s. There is a patent application in his name for ‘Axle Trees and axle boxes’.

There are a couple of applications by William Henry Fox Talbot on the same page, one for ‘Photography’.

However, I’m uncertain about the street name – I’m not sure whether owning a foundry is typically enough to get a road named in your honour. Either he did something else that I don’t know about, or Wolferston Drive was named after someone else.
