Jewell Close is on Bishopdown, very close to the London Road to the north east of Salisbury, England.

It is named after John Jewell, who was the Bishop of Salisbury from 1559 until his death in 1571. Bishop Jewell is most famous for his ‘Apology of the Church of England’.

Lovett Green, Salisbury

Lovett Gardens is named after Neville Lovett who was Bishop of Salisbury from 1936 until 1949. Most of the roads in this area of Bishopdown are named, appropriately enough, after Bishops of Salisbury

It is named after George Moberly, who was the Bishop of Salisbury from 1869 until his death in 1885.

Neville Close was named after Robert Neville, who was Bishop of Salisbury from 1427 to 1438 1.

Neville Close is on Bishopdown, which is to the north east of Salisbury. Many of the roads in the area are named after other Bishops (2) in reference to the name ‘Bishopdown’.
