16th November 2012 - first elected Wiltshire Police Commissioner

Wiltshire Police headquarters building On this day in 2012, Conservative Angus Macpherson became the first elected Wiltshire Police Commissioner.

Macpherson got 28,558 of the first round votes. The next most popular candidate Claire Moody got 16,198.

Then second preferences were taken into account. On the second preferences, Machperson got an extra 6761 while Moody received an extra 4959[1].

Turnout was very low - 81,477 people voted out of a potential 520,000.
