Saint Edmund, Treasurer of Salisbury Cathedral and Archbishop of Canterbury

The 16th of November is the feast of Saint Edmund of Abingdon. He was treasurer of Salisbury Cathedral, and then Archbishop of Canterbury

Edmund purchased 2 wedding rings. He wore one himself and placed on on the statue of the virgin at St Mary’s, Oxford

St Edmund died in 1240, and was canonized in 1246. His friend Bishop Walter de la Wyle founded Saint Edmund’s Church in in Salisbury in 1269.
