18th December 1680 - non-conformist meeting broken up in Castle Street

On 18th December 1680 a nonconformist meeting was violently broken up by a mob in Castle Street.

The mob “pulled down the pulpits and seats, and broke the walls of the house, and threw them into the main stream, and took the names of several persons to prosecute them. [1]”.
