18th January 1965 - Millie stars in Pantomime at the Odeon

Millie Small On January 18th 1965, a Christmas Pantomime called ‘Once Upon a FairyTale’ opened at what is now Salisbury Odeon.

It starred Millie[1] who had had a hit with My Boy Lollipop, Jess Conrad, Jimmy Wheeler and Des Lane. It ran From January 18th to the 23rd.

When I first saw this on the BBC page of Salisbury gigs I wasn’t sure whether the Millie listed was Millie Small, the Jamaican singer, but I subsequently found this poster on Flickr (the image was uploaded to Bradford Timeline’s Photostream[2]:

As you can see from the poster, there seems to have been two separate casts doing two separate tours of the same show.
