5th July 2008 - Canon Ezra, a new statue on the West Front of Salisbury Cathedral

Salisbury_Cathedral_Ezra_Baya_Lawiri.jpg On the 5th July 2008 a new statue was unveiled on the West Front of the Cathedral[1]

Canon Ezra Baya Lawiri was

a priest, biblical scholar and translator. He was killed by a shell in 1991 when he was caught in the crossfire of fierce fighting between government forces and the Sudan People's Liberation Army just outside Rokom[2].

The statue was created by Jason Battle
