8th December 1833 - Fisherton street lighting

Salisbury Gas WorksOn Monday 8th December 1833 it was announced that gas street lighting would be installed in Fisherton Street[1], presumably because it’s the closest main road to the gas works.

It was hoped that it would be installed and working by Christmas, but whether the Gas Men hit this particular target, I’m afraid I don’t knpw.
